About

Cheers! Life's too busy to not stop periodically and enjoy
a fine glass of wine.
I started this blog to keep track of my adventures in pinning. I've tried quite a few recipes I found and even a home project or two with success. I was tired of my haphazard way of tracking the successes.

The other reason for this blog is for fun. When we lived in China I created photo stories on Facebook of places that we explored. I enjoyed doing that and sharing our adventures with others. So I hope to do more of that here. In China I also wrote a weekly column which gave me the audacity to talk about anything I wanted, food related. I miss doing that as well.

So here I am.

Love this woman!

I'm a working, (new) mother to one and wife to an amazing man I refer to simply as "Husband" here.

Together we have called seven different places home. No, he is not in the military but it is his job that keeps us hopping.
I've traveled to 44 states and 31 countries.
(Remaining states: Hawaii, Alaska, Connecticut, New Mexico, Montana, North Dakota)

I believe that anything is possible. I believe that dreams are critical to living.

Food - I love to eat it. Love to make it. Love to talk about it.

I've know Husband since high school. We were neighbors and tried dating. It lasted about 2 weeks. Instead we became close friends. We didn't realize it at the time, but we exchanged pieces of our hearts. There's a longer story behind the next 10 years. In summary we lost touch, then randomly ran into each other, then loosely kept in touch as we both were finishing schools, starting jobs, moving all over the country and finding our way in the world. Finally in Nov of 1999, after having lost touch once again, we reconnected via email. Our first date was the Millennium New Years Eve in Memphis (Y2K). I asked the Lord for a sign that this was the right man for me at the right time. I also asked my father who had passed away that Fall. I received signs from both. And the Lord knowing how obtuse I can be sent me His sign a few times. We took the leap and haven't look back since.

I know that the Lord loves me. I know that through Him all things are possible. The only way to explain the miracles and opportunities in my life are through Him.

There are only 3 foods I don't eat: 1.) Beets 2.) Bugs 3.) Chicken Feet
- And yes I've tried them all...

It took us about 7 years before we were blessed with our child. Over the years we've had 3 miscarriages, long periods of infertility, and then the last few years I've regularly, naturally fertilized eggs with no success. At no point did we chose to try IVF or anything more controlling than taking hormone pills. I always believed that I would be a mother one day. I was getting inpatient and discouraged that my dreams of being a mother and the Lords plans were not exactly on the same page. We looked into domestic adoption. I still think adoption is a wonderful option, should we chose to have another child. The biggest problem with adoption is the cost.

Travel - Still wishing I could make it a career.
